Copilot agent mode
Copilot agent mode (preview) loops on its own edits, terminal output and errors; Copilot Edits goes GA; 'Project Padawan' SWE agent teased.
Brings the Cursor/Cline-style autonomous loop into VS Code, where the agent reads files, edits, runs commands and tests, and self-corrects. Also previews a cloud agent that takes issues and returns tested PRs. Reached VS Code Stable with MCP support on 2025-02-24.

Initially VS Code Insiders only. The VS Code team said it preferred Claude Sonnet over GPT-4o for agent mode.
