Claude Code 2.0, checkpoints and VS Code extension
Claude Code 2.0 adds checkpoints that rewind code and conversation, a native VS Code extension, subagents, hooks and background tasks, with Sonnet 4.5 as default.
Checkpoints save code state before each change and rewind with Esc twice or /rewind, making long autonomous runs safer. The release also added a refreshed terminal UI and extended the renamed Claude Agent SDK with subagents and hooks, which let developers parallelize and automate agent work.
