Claude Code launches as a terminal-based agentic coding tool in research preview, delegating multi-step engineering tasks from the command line.
A command-line agent that reads a codebase, edits files, runs commands and tests. Anthropic's early testing reported tasks finished in one pass that would take 45+ minutes by hand. By Nov 2025 Anthropic said Claude Code had reached $1B run-rate revenue, six months after general availability.
