# AI Research Atlas

> A daily-updated atlas of AI: launches, papers and people moves since January 2023, each checked against its sources, with written daily and weekly briefs. By Prashish Rajbhandari.

The app at / renders in the browser, but every daily brief, week and launch also has a plain page (listed below) that any agent can read. For search and filters, use the MCP server.

## Tools

- whats_new: The latest AI releases and people moves, newest first, with a pointer to the latest daily brief. Use this first for any question about recent AI news. Each release has an id for get_release.
- search_atlas: Search the atlas by meaning and keywords across releases, papers, people moves, daily and weekly briefs, lab profiles and the long pages. Returns the best matches with a snippet, a link and which tool to call next for the full record.
- get_daily_brief: The written daily brief for one day, explaining what happened in a few paragraphs, plus the other news of the day. Defaults to the latest day and lists the days that have a brief.
- get_weekly_brief: The written weekly brief, with the week in brief, the main stories and why they matter, people moves and what to watch. Defaults to the current week, which is revised daily until Sunday. Past weeks go back to January 2026.
- list_releases: Filter the checked log of AI releases (models, open weights, products, features, papers, infrastructure) by lab, kind, modality, access, date and significance. Newest first by default, paged with a cursor.
- get_release: Everything the atlas has on one release, including what changed, each figure and who measured it, price, access, the sources it was checked against and related releases. Use ids from the other tools.
- list_people_moves: Researchers and executives who joined, left or founded AI labs, with dates, roles, why it matters and sources. Filter by organisation (either side of the move), person, kind of move, area and dates.
