OpenAI released open-weights Whisper large-v3-turbo, a pruned 0.8B-parameter speech recognizer much faster than large-v3, at DevDay 2024.
Smaller (0.8B-parameter) variant of Whisper large-v3 published on Hugging Face; part of OpenAI's small stream of open-weights speech models between GPT-2 and gpt-oss.
