Luma's Dream Machine put a high-quality text/image-to-video model in the public's hands for free, two days before Runway Gen-3 Alpha was previewed.
Free public text-to-video and image-to-video at a time when Sora was still unreleased; went viral through meme animations of existing images. Luma had previously been known for its 3D 'Genie' capture tool. Later renamed Ray1.x then Ray2.
