SynthID Detector
Google opened a public SynthID Detector website that checks images, video and audio for SynthID watermarks from Google, OpenAI, Nvidia and Kakao, with Apple support promised soon.
Before this, people outside Google's trusted tester program could only check for SynthID by asking Gemini, and the detector only recognised Google's own watermark. The new site covers watermarks from partners including OpenAI, Nvidia and Kakao, and returns a simple answer on whether SynthID was used to produce or edit the media. Login with a Google, OpenAI or Apple account is required, and each user gets about 10 checks a day.
