SynthID Bio

Google DeepMind · 30 September 2026

SynthID Bio is a proof of concept for watermarking AI-generated proteins in the sequence itself while preserving function in lab tests.

Extends the SynthID watermark family from media to synthetic biology, and the signature is verifiable on the physical, synthesized protein. Intended to help label synthetic entries in databases such as PDB, UniProt and GenBank.
