Gemini free tier change
Google will limit free Gemini users to the Flash Lite model from October 9, and the $4.99 AI Plus plan will lose Gemini Pro access.
Free users can currently choose Flash Lite, Flash and Pro. From October 9 they get only Flash Lite, and standard Flash needs the $4.99 per month Google AI Plus plan. AI Plus will also lose Gemini Pro, so Pro and the Deep Think reasoning option will be limited to Google AI Pro ($19.99) and Ultra ($99.99) subscribers. Low, medium and high effort levels stay available for each model, but higher effort may use up the usage limit faster.
