Black Forest Labs launches with FLUX.1: three 12B image models (pro API, dev open-weight non-commercial, schnell Apache 2.0) and a $31M seed.
12B hybrid multimodal and parallel diffusion transformer built on flow matching, from the Stable Diffusion alumni Robin Rombach, Patrick Esser and Andreas Blattmann. TechCrunch reported it ahead of Midjourney and OpenAI tools in Artificial Analysis rankings, and it powered Grok's image feature.
