MCP spec 2025-11-25
MCP revision 2025-11-25 adds experimental long-running Tasks, OAuth Client ID Metadata Documents, URL-mode elicitation and tool calling inside sampling.
Tasks give durable requests with polling and deferred results. Client ID Metadata Documents become the recommended client-registration mechanism. Adds OpenID Connect discovery, icons, incremental scope consent, URL elicitation, and formal MCP governance and SDK tiering.
