Life Sciences Verification Program
The Life Sciences Verification Program gives vetted biology teams Mythos, Opus and Sonnet models with biology safeguards loosened, in beta for institutions.
Fable 5 still fell back to Opus 5 on virology, toxicology and molecular design, blocking drug-discovery work. Verified teams can apply for 'Standard Use' or 'High-risk Use' grants across Claude Science, claude.ai, Claude Code and the API. Built in partnership with the US government; individuals on Pro and Max come later.

On 2026-08-07 Anthropic cut Fable 5's biology fallbacks by about 85% on everyday health and education queries. Dozens of organizations were onboarded in early access before the 2026-09-17 opening.
