Discovering cryptographic weaknesses with Claude
Claude Mythos Preview found an improved attack on the post-quantum signature scheme HAWK and a new attack on round-reduced AES.
Goes beyond implementation bugs to flaws in the algorithms themselves. Anthropic says both are substantial research advances but do not affect any production system today. HAWK is a digital signature scheme built for a post-quantum world; AES is the most widely used symmetric cipher.
