Web search in Claude
Claude gains web search with direct citations, first as a preview for paid US users on Claude 3.7 Sonnet.
Claude can search the web and answer with inline citations so claims can be checked. Launched as a feature preview for paid US users; the page was later updated (2025-05-27) to say web search is available globally on all Claude plans.
