Claude memory
Claude remembers context across chats, scoped by project, with editable memory and incognito chats; it reached Free users in March 2026.
Rolled out to Team and Enterprise on 2025-09-11 and 2025-09-18, to Pro and Max by 2025-10-23, and to Free on 2026-03-02. On 2026-07-10 the daily summary was replaced by individual categorized entries Claude reads and updates, and 2026-08-25 made memory work across chat and Cowork with a sensitive-topics setting.

Anthropic ran safety testing on wellbeing-related topics before launch; as of 2026-08 memory is on by default for Free, Pro and Max and off by default for Team and Enterprise.
