Claude for Excel brings Claude into spreadsheets to answer questions about cells, update assumptions without breaking formulas and build models.
An Excel sidebar in research preview, where Claude reads, analyzes, modifies and builds workbooks, explains each change and links to the cells it cites. Shipped with new financial Agent Skills and market-data connectors. By 2026-10 the Excel, PowerPoint and Word add-ins share context and are generally available on paid plans.

Launch date 2025-10-27 is from Anthropic's financial-services post; beta widened to all Max, Team and Enterprise users on 2025-11-24. Claude in PowerPoint entered research preview with Opus 4.6 on 2026-02-05; Excel and PowerPoint shared context from 2026-03-11 and a Word add-in followed in beta on 2026-04-10.
