Create and edit files in Claude
Claude can now create and edit Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, PowerPoint decks and PDFs directly in claude.ai and the desktop app.
Moves Claude from chat answers to finished work files. Launched 2025-09-09 as an experimental 'upgraded file creation and analysis' setting; extended to Pro and mobile on 2025-09-29, then generally available to paid plans with network and egress controls on 2025-10-21.
