Claude 1 and Claude Instant
Anthropic's first public models, Claude and the cheaper, faster Claude Instant, launch with partners including Notion, Quora's Poe and DuckDuckGo.
Anthropic enters the commercial chat-model market. Launch page claims the model is less likely to produce harmful outputs, easier to converse with and more steerable, and it gives no benchmark numbers or prices. Inferred to be trained with the Constitutional AI method Anthropic published in Dec 2022.
