Four public-beta API capabilities arrive with Claude 4: a sandboxed code-execution tool, an MCP connector, a Files API and 1-hour prompt caching.
Lets developers build agents without their own harness. Claude runs Python in a sandbox (50 free hours per day, then $0.05/hour per container), connects to remote MCP servers without client code, reuses uploaded files, and holds cached context for 1 hour instead of 5 minutes.
